Colorful, Mixed Media Artwork by Sascalia

sca1

The lovely colors and compositions in her work are certainly something I admire. I am mostly impressed by the textures in her pieces. Texture is something I’ve struggled with. It is incredibly difficult to get it just right, and she hits the nail on the head, as they say. To find out more about the artwork showcased here, visit the Sascalia site. I certainly recommend giving her work a view. It is all lovely.

Curious Artwork of Jack & Cat Curio

jc1

Jack & Cat Curio are two very talented mixed media artists based in Phoenix, Arizona. Funny, I am discovering a whole world of very talented and interesting people back in Phoenix. I only wish I had known about them when I lived there, but I digress…

Jack & Cat Curio create stunning works of art! I love the multicolored, rustic textures in the backgrounds, balanced by the sharp contrast of each silhouette. Each piece is absolutely lovely.  Their use of typography is a big plus for me as well. I really admire artists who can do this genre well.

I greatly admire the level of detail involved in his work. I’ve seen some of his pieces before, but I only recently discovered who the artist was. I am glad I discovered his website earlier today. His illustrations are a true pleasure to marvel.

The Dreamy Artwork of Rachel Austin

Rachel is one of my favorite Portland artists. I just love gazing at her paintings, finding all the lovely details she puts into her work. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out she used maps in some of her paintings. I was admiring one of her pieces with my husband when he pointed out the faint map texture in the background. I just thought that was quite clever. The veiled typography adds such a lovely graphic touch to her work.

You can find the pieces below and many others by visiting RachelAustin.com or by visiting her Etsy Page. Along with her original artwork, Rachel offers prints of her work as well as cards, pendants, mirrors and buttons. I certainly recommend giving her site a view.

Impressive Candy Images by Chris Stewart

I discovered Chris Stewart’s photography a bit ago, and I just couldn’t stop smiling. He has a very fascinating body of work, and I absolutely adore his Candy images. They are just so funky and colorful. The yellow gummy bear looks quite epic as well. I don’t know how else to describe it. These little candy bits are certainly portrayed in a different light in his images. I really hope he does more of these. If you fancy having one of these on your wall, have a look at Beware The Cheese where Chris sells prints of these and many more of his images.

Dreamy Mixed Media Art by Natasha Morton

Natasha Morton is very inspiring to me. She creates beautiful, dreamy canvases using a mixture of materials she has on hand and sources. Her work has a very vintage look to it. She creates this effect by layering and sanding down the canvas. Her process is quite interesting, and the results are just beautiful. You can purchase the artwork below by visiting her website.

The Fascinating Art Of Gonkar Gyatso

I was very impressed with Mr. Gyatso’s work. He creates beautiful and interesting pieces that are meant to be a visual statement on globalization and the hybridization of the contemporary world. I’m actually quite excited that his studio is in London as well. I will be moving closer to the area, and I would love to see his work in person. I certainly recommend giving his site a view. His work is quite visually and culturally interesting.
