I got married in 1978 (yea, awhile ago,) and my grandfather, who was living with my folks at the time, wanted desperately to buy my wedding gown as a gift

He was very poor and on a limited income, and had $10.00 he could spare for my wedding gown.

We found a cream-collored gunny-sack style prom dress on the back rack of a dress shop, and bought it. Friends made a veil and filled in the neckline with some sheer chiffon and lace, and VOILA, my grandfather was able to buy my wedding dress!

He was SO happy and I was happy he was happy.

And I am married to the same guy, by the way. AND I think you have inspired me for my necxt blog post! Do you mind if I link to yours as inspiration for the post?
