Day of the Dead Sugar Skull Accessories by Moxie & Oliver

These lovelies by Moxie & Oliver are a fantastic find with Day of the Dead coming up in a couple of months. I’ve seen other sugar skull accessories, but these are certainly some of the best. Each design is made using a very thick, tooling leather, which means that each piece will last you a lifetime. I was very excited when I discovered these. I get very nostalgic when I see sugar skull design, and this is certainly a product that pulled on my heart strings. For more information on any of the products listed here and many more, please visit the Moxie & Oliver website.

Style Crush: The Mini Dress
I’ve been reluctant to try this style for a number of years, but I finally took the plunge a year ago. All I have to say is that I will never look back. I absolutely adore mini dresses. I love wearing them with funky tights or leggings. They are the perfect canvas to layer on accessories. You can dress them up or down, and wear them in all occasions. The possibilities are endless. I love versatile pieces like these. I am only sorry I didn’t try one on sooner. I wore one to my friend’s birthday party this Sunday and I received many compliments. I really wasn’t expecting it as I wore the dress for my comfort on the train. I was happily surprised. Here are a few I am seriously crushing on at the moment.

Fashion Crush: Melissa Plastic Dreams & Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Collaboration
I nearly fell over when I saw these in a window while out taking a stroll in the Lanes this Sunday. Two of my favorite designers have collaborated to create these fabulously funky shoes. I have written about Melissa Plastic Dreams shoes before and I have good news to report. Since then I have tried them on and they are quite comfortable. Additionally, the claim that they smell of bubble gum is very true. Now, Vivienne Westwood has collaborated with Melissa Plastic Dreams to bring us this new collection called Anglomania. Let the girly screams commence.

Fashion Crush: Lovely Organic Designer Clothing by Pretty Birdie
Stephanie Teague’s clothing designs are just absolutely lovely. She uses recycled, surplus and sustainable fabric exclusively in all of her designs. Every piece of couture offered at Pretty Birdie is handmade by Stephanie. I certainly recommend giving her shop a view. If you are interested in any of the designs below you can find them on the Pretty Birdie site.

Style Crush: Sexy Platform Sandals
I have a love hate relationship with high heels shoes. While I absolutely adore the style, and how they make your legs look, I find myself wearing them less and less. It’s mostly because I walk everywhere in the city, and they just aren’t practical while running errands. Brighton really isn’t a car city. Nevertheless, I do wear them on nights out when I know there will be a cab involved. I’m really crushing on large strap, platform sandals right now. They are gorgeously sexy especially paired with some black leggings.

Stylish Summer Scarves
On my first trip to Dublin, I stumbled upon an array of lovely scarves while waiting for the tour bus by Temple Bar. Well, my husband actually stumbled upon them and pointed them out to me. They were absolutely lovely. He really shouldn’t have pointed them out to me. I can’t stop thinking about them now. It’s not really an ongoing thing, but every time I get dressed in the morning I imagine how much better the outfit would look like with one of those scarves. I know I will probably never be in the area again, but I did a bit of online browsing and found some funky alternatives.

Fashion Crush: Sassy Ballerina Flats
I can’t believe I haven’t written about my favorite shoe. I wear them almost exclusively for work and casual days out. They are incredibly comfortable if you purchase the right brand. I have about five different pairs, but they seem to be mostly worn out. I’m currently in the market for some comfortable black and white flats to replace my black pair. I did manage to browse a few sites today where I managed to find a jack pot of fabulously sassy flats. The only problem is that I now fancy about five different pairs. It was bound to happen. Here is a gallery of my favorite type of shoe.

A Prom Dress As A Wedding Gown
I’ve actually loved this idea since I began looking for my wedding gown before Dennis and I tied the knot. I’ve never really fancied the idea of a white wedding dress, but I’m not a very traditional lady. Most of the women in my life were a bit upset at the idea, but I decided to go with my gut instinct and marry in red. It’s one of my favorite colors, and I just loved the idea of getting married in a red retro dress. It just suited the occasion and the theme.
Of course, I had a very hard time finding a red wedding gown so I decided to go with a second option. Instead of looking at wedding gown boutiques, I began looking for prom dresses. I found exactly what I was looking for when I shifted my search. I was very happy with the results. A prom dress wedding gown is certainly a fantastic option for those brides that fancy the idea of a colorful dress for that special day.

Style Crush: Harem Trousers
I absolutely adore this trouser design. Apart from being incredibly comfortable, they do an excellent job of hiding a few problem areas for me. I’m certain some of you can relate. I never thought they would fit so well until I tried them on. I was under the impression they would just make my hips look bigger, but they really didn’t. The trousers are cute, comfy and very feminine. The ones below come from a fabulous Danish company called NOA NOA. They have an excellent selection of harem trouser designs.

Fashion Crush: 50′s Style Halter Swing Dresses
This is actually a bit of a sad story. I noticed a deliciously fabulous, green 50′s style halter dress in shop window as I was riding the bus home last week. I couldn’t get off the bus as the next stop was right next to my flat, and I had a few errands to run before my time was mine again. Needless to say, the dress had gone by the time I finished my errands, and made my way back down to the store. I was a bit surprised since it had only been two hours or so. After that incident, I’ve been searching around for some dress eye candy. Delicious!
