I just read this fabulous article written by the very talented Bill Gardner. It discusses current trends used in logo design for 2008. When I came across this article I was incredibly excited. I love logo design! I find it absolutely fascinating. I believe it is one of the more challenging areas of design, and it is certainly one that took me a great deal of time to learn. I am still learning quite a bit about the art.
I believe most design projects, while still challenging, are no match for the exciting and puzzling challenge of creating a company logotype. The logo represents the brand. I believe it is one of the most important branding elements for a company, and I am still surprised that quite a few organizations out there do not see a need for logo design.
Bill Gardner’s article lists 15 logo trends plus additional micro trends for 2008. I am just incredibly fascinated at the variety of logo design featured in the article. The studios I have worked for usually stuck to one style of logo for many different clients. I just love it when different varieties, patterns, colors and fonts are used, and I love that there are so many trends this year! I have been inspired!
